Planning & Building

The purpose of the Planning and Building Department is to ensure that residential, commercial, and recreational buildings in Brian Head conform to the Town Code and are harmonious with the neighborhood in which they sit.  Brian Head strives to maintain a Rustic Mountain Village look. Projects are reviewed to ensure they are consistent with the Town Code, Town General Plan, Zoning and General Design Standards; and that they meet applicable health, safety, and public welfare standards found in the IRC and IBC.

Permit Process

Permits are required in Brian Head for every new construction, addition or remodel project in Brian Head.  This includes Tree Removal, Grading, changing your roof or painting the exterior of your home or business (minor alteration) all the way up to an addition on your existing building or new construction for a home or business.  The links below offer a description of the permits that we issue, and they will help you fill out the applications for the permits on City Inspect.

City Inspect is an on-line program that helps the Town, landowner and the contractors communicate during the permit, building and development process.  Owner or Builder will apply for their permit and upload information that is pertinent to the improvements for their project on City Inspect.  Furthermore, all requests, document uploads and approvals will be made through City Inspect.

Please proceed to Brianhead.Cityinspect.com to start your permit process.  Once there follow the following prompts and instructions:

1.      Create an Account using your email address as the Username.

2.      Click Register. (Password will be emailed to you)

3.      Go to your email and follow instructions on the email to reset your Password.

4.      Once you have an Account, start filling out the applicable application.

Encroachment and Trenching are found in the “Land Use Module,” all others are in the “Building Module.”

5.      You can always save where you are and exit and then come back later to finish.

If you have any questions regarding City Inspect, please contact the Planning and Building Department at 435-6772029.

Please remember that all inspections will be requested through City Inspect.
