2024 irrigation SEASON WATER RIGHTS LEASE BID ADVERTISEMENT
The Brian Head Special Service District is accepting bids to lease up to 243.085 acre-feet of water under water right No. 75-2019 for the 2024 irrigation season. Any lease contigent on approval of a temporary change application to allow diversion and use of the water as desired by the lessee. In addition to the lease payments, lessee will be responsible for all costs associated with the temporary change application.
Those interested in submitted a bid must do so no later than April 19, 2024 by 2:00 p.m. (MST) at which time the bids will be opened. Sealed bids may be submitted to the Brian Head Special Serivce District/Town Clerk, Nancy Leigh, at the Brian Head Town Offices located at 56 N. Hwy. 143, PO Box 190068, Brian Head, UT 84719 or emailed to nleigh@bhtown.utah.gov. For additional information, please contact the Town offices at 435-677-2029 during normal business hours.

- On February 27, 2024, the Brian Head Town Council accepted the Petition to be further considered and authorized the Petition to be certified by Town Staff.
- On March 27, 2024, the Town Staff certified that the Petition meets the requirements of Utah State Law and notice was provided to the Brian Head Town Council, the contact sponsor, and the Iron County Commission.
- The complete Annexation Petition is available for inspection and copying at the Brian Head Town Clerk’s Office located at 56 North Highway 143, Brian Head, Utah, Monday through Friday, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- Brian Head Town may grant the Petition and annex the above-described area unless a written lawful protest to the Annexation Petition is filed with the Iron County Clerk, PO Box 429, Parowan, 84761 c/o Jon Whittaker, or delivered to the Iron County Clerk’s office located at 68 South 100 East, Parowan, Utah 84761. A copy of the protest must also be delivered to the Brian Head Town Clerk at the address noted above on the same date that the protest is filed with the Iron County Clerk. Any protest must be filed as herein stated by no later than April 26, 2024 by 4:30 p.m.
- The area proposed for annexation to Brian Head Town will also be automatically annexed to have Brian Head provide fire protection, and emergency services or law enforcement services as applicable.
- The area proposed for annexation to Brian Head Town will automatically be withdrawn from Iron County providing fire protection and emergency services or law enforcement services, as applicable in which districts the town is not a part in accordance with State Code §10-2-406(2)(g) and (h).
- If no lawful protests are received, the Brian Head Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Brian Head Town Council Chambers located at 56 North Highway 143, Brian Head, Utah, to consider the request to annex this property.
- If no lawful protests are received, the Brian Head Town Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Brian Head Town Council Chambers located at 56 North Highway 143, Brian Head, Utah to consider the request to annex his property.
