Town Council Meetings
ZOOM Meetings
In 2020 the town added electronic meetings by adding Zoom Meetings that allow the Council and public to participate electronically. Since that time, the Town has seen the benefit of continuing using Zoom Meetings to connect with those who are unable to physically participate in the Town's meetings.
Agendas will identify the Zoom Meeting link and Meeting ID# for each meeting. the public can simply click on the link and it will bring you to the meeting. All those joining the meeting will be placed in a "waiting room" until the host joins each attendee. We ask that you identify yourself on your device, so the Council and staff know who you are. All public participants will be muted and can use the "raise hand" icon if wished to be heard. If the Mayor/Chair chooses recognize the person wishing to speak, staff will unmute that individual for comment. We ask you keep your comment short in order to run an efficient meeting. You may also submit written comments to nleigh@bhtown.utah.gov prior to the meeting.
The Brian Head Town Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month beginning at 1:00 PM at the Brian Head Town Hall Council Chambers located at 56 North Highway 143. As elected officials, the Town Council is required to post an agenda of all of its meetings along with minutes that are taken and recorded at each meeting. The Town Clerk is responsible for posting the agendas and taking minutes.
Information on each agenda item is available in the Council's packet with the exception of Closed Session items that are held behind closed doors. An agenda is posted on the Utah Public Meeting Website and within three locations in Brian Head: Town Hall, Post Office and The Mall. If you would like additional information regarding the Council agenda or would like to be on the agenda for an item to be considered by the Town Council, please contact the Town Clerk at (435) 677-2029 at least one week prior to the meeting. An agenda application is available for download and can be emailed to nleigh@bhtown.utah.gov.
Public Input Agenda Item
The Town Council and Planning Commission both have a agenda item that allows for public input. During this time, any public may comment on non-agenda items. Comments are limited to three (3) minutes.
Public Hearings / Notices
The Town Council and Planning Commission hold public hearings when required by law. This typically includes any amendments to the Land Management Code and the Town budgets. The public hearing notice requirements are outline in Utah State Code for these two items
Details of each public hearing notices are available in the "Government" Tab under "Public Hearings" and/or "Legal Notices". If you are needing more information on a particular public hearing please contact the Town Hall during normal business hours and our staff will assist you with your request.
Public Hearings are held during the regular meeting of either the Planning Commission or Town Council scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm or shortly thereafter at the Brian Head Town Hall, Council Chambers - 56 North Highway 143, Brian Head, UT 84719
Public Comments during a public hearing are limited to three (3) minutes and written comments may be submitted to the Town Clerk, nleigh@bhtown.utah.gov for Town Council or the Deputy Clerk cclaridge@bhtown.utah.gov for the Planning Commission The deadline date is identified on each notice.
Prior Years Town Council Meeting Minutes and Packets
Brian Head Town now has prior years of meetings online under "Agenda/Minutes" this includes the agenda, council/commission meeting packet and the minutes (when approved). If you would like to review prior Town Council meeting minutes or Council packets, please contact the Town Clerk at nleigh@bhtown.utah.gov or by calling the Town offices during normal business hours at (435) 677-2029 ext. 104.
You can subscribe to each board on the Town's website and also on the Utah Public Meeting Notice Website at pmw.utah.gov to any of Brian Head public boards, such as the Town Council, Redevelopment Agency, Special Service District, Municipal Building Authority, Planning Commission, Tree Commission and the Trail Commission. You will need to identify which public body you would like to receive notices on. Once the information is posted, you will receive an email notifying you on the meeting. If you have any questions, please call the Town Clerk during normal business hours.
