Town Council Mid-Term Vacancy Notice

notice is hereby given that there is a  mid-term vacancy on the Brian Head Town Council.  The Town is seeking interested qualified persons to serve the remaining term for Town Council.  

Interested parties must meet the qualifications for candidate and submit a letter of interest no later than noon on July 18, 2025. Letters may be submitted to the Town Clerk at nleigh@bhtown.utah.gov or by mail/Person to PO Box 190068, Brian Head, UT 84719. 

The Town Council may conduct interviews during the regular meeting of the Town Council scheduled for July 22, 2025 @ 1:00PM at the Brian Head Town Hall, Council Chambers unless a a special meeting of the Town Council is called and noticed accordingly. 

Candidate qualifications:

Must be a registered voter of Brian Head

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must reside within Brian Head Town for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the appointment.

Maintain a principal place of residence within Brian Head

Not convicted of a felony, treason, or crime relating to elections

Cannot have been declared mentally incompetent.

Snowshoe/Toboggan SAA

The Snowshoe/Toboggan Special Assessment Area is scheduled to begin construction to install water and sewer lines in the spring/summer of 2025.

275 eAST SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AREA

The 275 East SAA did not meet the State's requirements for creating a SAA due to the Value ratio.  The Town Council abandoned the 275 East SAA.

Ranger Court SAA

It was determined that the Ranger Court SAA did not meet the State's requirement for creating a Special Assessment Area due to the value ratio of property.  the Town Council abandoned the Ranger Court SAA.

BRIAN HEAD ANNEXATIONS:

ASPEN MEADOWS ANNEXATION Completed:

the Aspen Meadows annexation was OFFICIALLY accepted by the town council by ordinance on may 28, 2024. 

The Town staff will complete the annexation process with the lt. governor's office and county clerk/recorder's office.

Aspen Meadows annexation of 1,799.02 acres of real property has been annexed into the town of brian head.

The Brian Head Unit 3 Annexation has been completed and recorded with the iron county recorder and is annexed into the town of brian head. 

bRIAN HEAD UNIT 3 IS LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST END OF BRIAN HEAD TOWN.   ANNEXATION OF 9 REMAINING LOTS THAT WERE NEVER ANNEXED INTO BRIAN HEAD ORIGINALLY IN THE 1970'S.
